Description:
A Chinese painted grey pottery model of an Ox Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). Standing four-square on a rectangular plinth, the head raised and facing forward, the ears projecting below the long curved horns, its back with a latticework of straps with circularbosses and suspended lappet terminals, red, cream and black pigments.
The result of the thermoluminescence test, Oxford C107y32 is consistent with the dating of this lot. However, the sample taken under the head whilst consistent with the suggested period, had different TL properties.(40.4CM in length x 13cm)
